On the pulse of time: ASSA ABLOY shows its smart innovations at belektro

September 7, 2022

Between 8 and 10 November, experts from the e-business will meet at belektro in the ExpoCenter City in Berlin. In addition to everything that moves this industry, the trade fair also presents innovations from the fields of lighting, energy generation and building technology. ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH will have a stand and will be showing its forward-looking solutions from the security sector. Among other things, a design-oriented escape door solution will be presented that combines all control elements in a single functional display – the ePED display terminal.

The presentation of intelligent products from the fields of safety and efficiency, energy as well as the presentation of comprehensive solutions for the networked building will remain the central task of belektro in 2022. A total of 250 national and international exhibitors will be presenting their smart innovations on the ExpoCenter City site in Berlin from 8 to 10 November – including ASSA ABLOY.

ePED display terminal: an elegant and compact escape door solution

In Hall 1.2 at Stand 1608, ASSA ABLOY will be showing its modern display door terminal. The new escape door solution combines all control elements behind a single small screen: key switch, emergency open, illuminated pictogram and time delay display. Another special feature of the security solution is its design. The door status – whether green for open or red for locked – can be read from a distance via the colourful illuminated LED frame. All relevant information such as door status, technical details or maintenance information can be called up or configured via the display. The graphic design and situational displays facilitate operation and support quick handling in the event of danger.

ASSA ABLOY presents the world’s smallest electric strike

A highlight will also be the presentation of the smallest and most flexible electric strike. With the 118 electric strike, ASSA ABLOY has developed an all-rounder that can be used for practically any application thanks to its small dimensions and numerous model variants. The 118 can be used universally for DIN left/right and can be easily adjusted exactly with FaFix, the adjustable latch, even after installation. This eliminates the need to cut out a profile in the frame for the swing-out electric strike latch and the sealing level of the door remains completely intact. With only two voltage ranges, the 118 also covers all power supply requirements, for example for intercoms or access control systems.

Visitors will also learn how the SCALA access control system works, which is suitable for single-family homes and apartment buildings as well as medium-sized companies. For buildings that require special protection, the security technology expert will also be presenting its security locks for double-leaf full-panel doors. In the multi-point locking version, the new security locks offer increased burglary protection and are capable of achieving resistance class RC4 in suitable systems. This is currently the highest class on the market in this area of application.

High security thanks to user codes

At its stand, ASSA ABLOY will also be presenting a product for securing sensitive data: the Code Handle® door handle. The access control fitting is suitable for interior rooms in medical practices, law firms, office communities, authorities and private households. Instead of using a key, rooms are simply opened by entering a PIN. The lever handle is easy to install, no wiring is necessary. During commissioning, a master code is assigned with which up to nine user codes can be programmed or changed at any time. Thanks to a permanently open function, it is also possible, for example, to keep offices unlocked during normal working hours. The Code Handle® Window electromechanical fitting was specially developed by ASSA ABLOY for windows and patio and balcony doors. It prevents the uncontrolled opening of windows and doors, which is particularly important in nursing homes.
